Lavender Library, Archives, and Cultural Exchange (LLACE)
1414 21st St, Sacramento, California 95811
We are SUPER excited to announce that the Lavender Library & Sacramento Covered will be hosting Coffee, Bagels & Queer Healthcare! Come have coffee, bagels and find out how to sign up for healthcare!
Health Navigator, Aliyah Hurt, from Sacramento Covered will be screening individuals to help them understand what health programs they may qualify for such as Medi-Cal, Covered California, CalFresh and Healthy Partners (a local program for undocumented adults). She will be available for folks to drop in and ask any healthcare questions they have, including folks who have coverage but want to know more on how to make it more accessible to their needs. And if folks need to apply for coverage, Aliyah will be setting up appointments for later in the week for assistance completing the application.
Healthcare is extremely confusing, this is your opportunity to ask questions and find out what services you can receive!
Not sure what's what? Here is a lil snapshot of how the different programs work:
• If you are a single adult and you make under $ 16,754/yr then you are likely to qualify for Medi-Cal & Denti-Cal (free health, vision & dental) AND possibly for CalFresh (Food Stamps). There is no deadline to apply.
• If you are a single adult and you make more than $ 16,754/yr then you are likely to qualify for Covered California (paid health, vision & dental) AND depending how much you make you may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay for some or most of your monthly bill. For 2019, the deadline to apply is January 15th.
*Eligibility for the various programs depend on household income and household size.
Free parking is available on the side of the building.
